The first Greek Month in Sweden will take place in Stockholm from 1 to 30 November 2026, bringing together 82 Greek food and beverage businesses with the support of six Greek regions.
Drawing on its longstanding presence and experience in the Scandinavian markets, RECO Exports is organising the first Greek Month in Sweden under the shared brand identity The Flavours of Greece. The initiative is supported by the Regions of Central Macedonia, Crete, Epirus, the Ionian Islands, the North Aegean and Western Macedonia.
Throughout November, Stockholm will host a comprehensive programme designed to showcase and promote Greek products. Bringing together retail, foodservice, business networking and international trade fair participation, the initiative aims to strengthen the presence of Greek food and drink on the Swedish market.
The initiative builds on RECO Exports’ sustained work across Scandinavia, including business development activities, events and familiarisation visits to Greece for Swedish business professionals. These efforts have helped establish meaningful connections and foster cooperation between Greek businesses and the Swedish market.
The Flavours of Greece has been developed as a unified platform for presenting a diverse range of Greek food products and wines, highlighting the quality, authenticity and richness of Greece’s food and drink production.
Four pillars bringing Greek products closer to the Swedish market
The Greek Month programme is built around four key areas:
- Retail – Greek products will be featured and promoted in 12 selected supermarkets across Stockholm throughout November.
- Foodservice – Twelve selected restaurants across the city will introduce dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of the six participating Greek regions, paired with Greek wines.
- Business networking – A B2B Matchmaking Day will take place on 5 November, bringing together 82 Greek businesses: 68 food producers and 14 wineries and beverage producers. Participants will have the opportunity to meet Swedish retail buyers, importers, distributors, foodservice professionals and journalists specialising in the food and beverage sector. The programme will also include Greek wine tastings and conclude with a networking dinner.
- International trade fair – Greece will be represented by a joint national pavilion under The Flavours of Greece brand at Sthlm Food & Wine, the consumer food and wine exhibition taking place on 6–7 November at Stockholmsmässan.
In parallel, visitors to participating restaurants will be able to share their experiences via a QR code and enter a prize draw to win trips to Greece. Familiarisation trips offering Swedish industry professionals first-hand insight into Greek food production are also planned for 2027.
“The Greek Month in Stockholm is more than another promotional initiative. It is a structured business programme that puts Greek products on retail shelves, on restaurant tables and on the radar of Swedish buyers. Our goal is for participating businesses to return from Stockholm with tangible business contacts and a solid foundation for further growth across the Scandinavian markets,” says Antonis Sioulis, Founder and Managing Director of RECO Exports.
Through this multi-faceted approach, RECO Exports aims to bring Greek products closer to Swedish consumers and industry professionals alike. The ambition goes beyond showcasing Greek gastronomy: it is about strengthening the position of Greek businesses in Sweden, opening up new market opportunities and building lasting export partnerships.
With The Flavours of Greece, RECO Exports aims to establish a recurring platform for international business development, creating lasting links between Greek producers and the Swedish market, with the potential to reach wider markets across Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. A strong, recognisable and unified brand identity will help increase the visibility of Greek products and create new opportunities for commercial cooperation.
The initiative is also supported by the Embassy of Greece in Stockholm, the Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce
