Tigania beach in Sithonia in Chalkidiki

by Hello From Greece

Chalkidiki: Discover Tigania Beach in Chalkidiki which reminds you of … the Caribbean …. The beach is famous worldwide and people from many different countries enjoy it and its enchanting wild beauty.

A special proposal for those who will be on Sithonia, i.e. the “second stage” (second peninsula, also called “second foot”) of Chalkidiki, is Tigania beach.

It is an exotic beach that has received more and more visitors in recent years. The beaches with turquoise water are reminiscent of the Caribbean. Tigania is located between the beaches of Klimataria and Kriaritsi and immediately stands out from other beaches for its turquoise, almost transparent waters, the golden sand and the rocks that impressively penetrate the sea’s bosom. The beach consists of three small bays with successive beaches and with intermediate rocks. The first two have parking and a beach bar, while the third is more secluded.

To reach the beach, one takes Sithonia’s main road from Sykia to Kalamitsi or the coastal road starting from the coast of Sykia. Unfortunately there are no signs and you will have to do a lot of searching, but the search is worth it! Unfortunately, the beach is not suitable for people with disabilities.

It is impossible not to fall in love with the beach at first sight… When the beach is bathed in sunshine, it is really, really irresistible. A wild and untouched beauty, with a magnificent view, reaching up to the holy Mount Athos and the hermitage of Agia Anna.

The area is quite deserted as it is far from the main road.

Many say that Tigania beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Chalkidiki, a hidden beauty waiting for you to discover it and enjoy its endless views, greenery and unforgettable waters.

Getting to Tigania beach is difficult, but well worth the effort, as its crystal clear waters will compensate you. You can reach the beach by following the signs and arrows painted on the road. If you can’t orient yourself to find Tigania, follow the wider path first. There are two ways to reach Tigania, one is through Sithonia’s main road from Sykia to Kalamitsi, and the other is through the coastal road starting from the shore of Sykia.

The bar located on the beach is of unique beauty; everything there is handmade in wood – tables, chairs, even the parasols in the form of palm trees, which are already prepared in February so that everything is ready for the start of the season in May!!!

At the bar you feel a unique coolness and a breeze that makes you think you are up on a mountain or another season of the year and not in the middle of summer.

On the other hand, down by the coves where you can go and sit on the sunbeds, you feel a unique warmth.

We spoke to Christos who, together with his father Dimitris, has owned this beach bar for nine years.

We asked him from what period it is open and until when you can visit and he told us that it is from the beginning of May (specifically this year they opened on May 2) until the end of September.

We tried their cuisine with local meat and we highly recommend the souvlaki, the pancetta and the country sausage (the portion costs €12). On the handmade tables you can enjoy them together with beer, wine, tsipouro.

Christos also told us that later in the evening you can order wonderful cocktails (at a cost of €12) and juices (at €10 each).
